Miller Boat Line Ferry to Put-In-Bay

Recently my family had the opportunity to take a fun day trip to Put-In-Bay on Lake Erie in northern Ohio. Put-In-Bay is located on South Bass Island. Since Put-In Bay is located on an island and their is no bridge connecting it to mainland you must take a ferry boat to get their. We had the pleasure of riding, car and all, on Miller Boat Line’s Put-In-Bay Ferry.

My kids LOVED the ferry boat ride and my husband and I enjoyed it a lot too.  The loading and unloading process was smooth and easy and everyone was very professional. The scenery was beautiful and the day was perfect as we rode on the deck enjoying the fresh air. On the boat ride back our ferry boat staff rescued a father and his two kids who had capsized their canoe, it was quite impressive. Miller Boat Line is the only ferry that allows you to take a car to the island and while you do not need a car you will need to rent a golf cart if you do not have a car. We will definitely use Miller Boat Line again. We had a nice day spending time as a family at Put-In-Bay here are a few highlights from our trip.

We received a complimentary ferry boat ride courtesy of Miller Boat Line. All opinions are my own.

  1. How fun! I used to go to Put-in-Bay on the Miller Boat line with my dad & brother each summer. We would bring the car and go camping. Such fond memories! I’m glad you had fun too!

  2. Due to the numbers of large freshwater lakes and length of shoreline in Canada, many provinces and territories have ferry services. BC Ferries carries travellers between Vancouver Island and the British Columbia mainland on the country’s west coast. Thanks.

  3. The above information is appropiate and just what I was looking for. A must read for the layman wanting a brief and precise information. We can do with a little addition of the facts in future.

  4. That’s a great idea! I only took a ferry once, from Maine to Nova Scotia, and the waves were big I was sick the whole time, so I hear the word ferry since and I think “no!” but I see not all ferries are sea sick ferries. And a great idea you can take your car, too! There isn’t anything like that here in CT.
