Now that I am an experienced canner I tried my hand at another recipe Peaches in Cinnamon Honey Syrup and it turned out delicious, so delicious that I probably didn’t need to actually can them or I needed to double my batch because my kids have been devouring them!
Peaches in Cinnamon Honey Syrup
- 5 pounds white flesh peaches peeled and halved
- 2 Tbs fresh lemon juice
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 cup honey
- 2 cups water
After you prepare the peaches by removing the pit, peeling and halving them toss them in a bowl with the lemon juice. In a large deep skillet combine water, honey, sugar and cinnamon. Stir over medium-high heat until sugar is dissolved. In a single layer add peaches to syrup and cook for 3 minutes. Divide peaches among 2 1-quart jars and then fill with syrup leaving 1/2 inch head space.Process jars in a waterbath for 30 minutes.
