My daughter wears a uniform and has pretty strict guidelines when it comes to shoes. Finding shoes she likes that meet the guidelines is really, really hard. We found some adorable Umi children’s shoes for the fall and she loved them, and then she had a huge growth spurt and we needed new shoes. The new line of shoes from Umi is really, really cute, so cute that I did not let her see it. I am such a bad mom but I really did not want to fight with her and deal with the tears when I told her she could not wear most of the shoes (no bright colors allowed).
I chose the Moraine in navy because I knew she would love the color and the high shine factor. Plus I know my daughter still needs a strap to keep her shoes on as she runs about. The shoes arrived and the moment of truth came. You see I had warned her I got her shoes and she was not pleased that she did not have a say in the matter.
She pulled them out of the box, stared at them silently and then begrudgingly said “well they are pretty shiny and I guess they will look fancy”. That means she likes them! Later she excitedly told my husband about her new shoes and she happily wore them to school today. Thanks to Umi she is not wearing the same old boring black mary jane style shoes as all the other girls she has fancy, shiny navy shoes that she loves!
How cute does she look? And yes it cracks me up that the side pony tail is back in, I wore one when I was her age but it was the 80s! Check out the rest of the great line that I love:
