It is no secret that having four kids makes things a bit crazier in my life. but I still strive for a homemade meal every night. No matter how busy we get I want to make sure we connect as a family at dinner over a well made meal. Cooking is something I love to do but some nights we run in the door from ballet at 5 pm and have to run back out to soccer at 6 so that hardly leaves enough time for a homemade meal. When I found out that Tyson the makers of our favorite chicken nuggets came out with a fully cooked sausage I was intrigued and when I realized it was a patty not a link my head began swirling with ideas. I knew that this would be a perfect quick breakfast meal for us but this has dinner possibilities too.
Tyson Fully Cooked Sausage is available at Sam’s Club so I headed to mine and checked out the in store demonstration. They were serving the Tyson Fully Cooked Sausage on an English muffin with cheese, a yummy breakfast sandwich option. I stood by as the lady cooked a batch in the skillet and was pleased that they took only around 5 minutes, nice and quick! They are sold in a 4 pound bag for $10.98 and are great for a big family like mine or you once a month shoppers. these would also be perfect for cooking on the grill in our skillet when we go camping!
When I got home I immediately set out to remake a favorite dinner sandwich of mine that takes forever as I make sausage patties by hand mixing two different kinds of sausage. And so the Sausage and Provolone BLT was born and it is amazingly delicious and thanks to Tyson Fully Cooked Sausage it took all of 20 minutes to make!
Sausage and Provolone BLT Sandwich Recipe
- Tyson Fully Cooked Sausage
- Provolone Cheese
- Bacon – cooked according to directions ( I prefer turkey bacon cooked in the oven and this can be done ahead of time)
- 1 can of diced tomatoes with green chilis
- 1 tsp garlic minced
- Ciabatta rolls
- olive oil
Cook the Tyson Fully Cooked patties according to package directions and if you have not precooked your bacon stick your bacon in the oven at the same time.
Puree your tomatoes with garlic and then heat up in a saucepan. Slice your Ciabatta rolls in half to make them a bun then brush with olive oil. Cook under the broiler on Hi for 3-5 minutes, just until toasted. I like to add the provolone to the bun just before I take them out of the oven so it melts.
Now assemble your sandwich add a Tyson fully cooked sausage, then some bacon, then a spoonful of your tomato sauce, then a piece of lettuce, add the top bun and voila Sausage and Provolone BLT sandwich delicious!
