I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Discover Boating. I received collateral to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
This past 4th of July weekend my children finally got a taste of one of my favorite childhood memories, tubing. Not only that the same man was driving the boat the first time they went tubing who drove me as a child, my dad. Even though no one in my family owns a boat these days we still have strong family ties to an area in Indiana full of lakes so it was the perfect family vacation spot. Even though our pontoon boat was rented it was still magical and my girls are still talking about it weeks later.
For me boating is a family event, I know it no other way, and I love that about it. There is something magical about loading up a cooler and bag of snacks grabbing your sunscreen and towels and heading out for hours with no real plan other than to have fun in and on the water. This year my girls not only got a first taste of the lake life and boating life but they went tubing, yes even my 3 year old. I think my oldest really enjoyed her first ride with her uncle, not sure if her smile could be any bigger!
All 4 days we had the boat my girls went out rain or shine, only thunder kept them off of the lake. And at night the adult siblings went for a slow cruise on the pontoon while the grandparents kept an eye on the sleeping kids, it was wonderful. I loved being able to share some of my favorite memories of boating with my kids this year and look forward to this being a yearly tradition.
If you are considering getting out on the water I highly recommend you check out Discover Boating to learn about rentals, costs, boating comparisons and all the water activities you can enjoy!
